Default Crank Concern......

Well I picked up my motor for what I would consider pretty cheap but since it had spun a bearing I wasn't sure what the crank would look like on that particular journal (?).

I looked and there appears to be some damage, the extent? I don't know what's fixeable and whats not. I am hoping to have Earl do the build but I need to know if I'm screwed on this crank.

For now, all I ask is for some input on how bad it can be yet still be fixable. Tomorrow I will post pics.

Here are the pics of the crank, it looks pretty bad so i'm guessing a new crank is in the future.

damn dude, that looks rough. IT almost looks like there is a drastic chuck missing from the surface! Is the picture playing tricks with my eyes? Here comes the inevitable:

can you catch your fingernail on it? Do you happen to have access to a micrometer?

Don't use a crank that has spun a bearing.. the end-- Earl will tell you the same.

Those two shards of metal came from the crank. I know it's fucked up so....I guess I'll be purchasing a new crank.
