cooling system pressure
the reason i'm asking is because i've seen many people use earls fittings on all their connections (vaccum sources too?). I have ss braided hose for any coolant/vac line passing close by the turbo, but i cant afford/dont want to spend all that $$$ on fittings. so i was thinking of using these just to cover up the ugly wires sticking up:
they can handle 90psi
they can handle 90psi
I used stainless because I already had them and they were free. I think they use the EARL's fitting for peace of mind so to say. You should've trimmed those ugly wires to prevent any kind of movment with the braiding. Unless you like leaks. Can they really handle that much? I never knew. Why not just convert oner to AN fittings. I've seen it done and it looked really nice for a CVCC Civic engine bay with the dinky 1200.
Why not just convert oner to AN fittings
these are $7 a pair. if i were to convert i'd need ntp>an adapter fittings, a couple of -4an tee's and the hose fittings. comes out to be much more expensive and looks very similar. i'm pretty sure the people who do use real earls fitting for the vac lines only do it for looks. same for fuel lines. its definetly not needed for the regular daily driver. i guess you could call it "rice"
