Default Compression Test #'s B16 w/ 9.1 pistons HELP!!!

Ive got a built B16 with 9.1 CP pistons and needed to know what #'s are good for a new built 9.1 engine. I got 160-156-164-159 I know I've got consistency but is that good for a new block??? Thanks for any help Ooh and this was on a ice cold engine

mine were way higher than that, try readjusting your valves

you need to do it with the engine warm and with the throttle at wide open. make sure you pull out the ECU fuse also so that it does not inject fuel while you crank. and crank it about 5-6 times rather than 3-4.

don't be discouraged with those number......every compression tester gauge will be different. as long as they are all within 10-15psi of each other the engine is fine.

i just did my gsr bottom b16 top 9-1 compression engine ice cold with throttle shut and got 200 all the way across. just crank it 5-6 times untill it stops raising quickly

we usually do 8 revolutions, tb open, and pull the ecu fuse

i do 6 cranks. warm engine with the throttle wide open. my 9:1 motor is 180psi on the good cyls hehe. consistancy is what counts, i know people who have 160psi and their motors are healty as hell

dif gauges give dif results, my 9.4:1 b16 pegs 200 across the board. well, it did til i sold it yesterday

different testers vary. My friend tested his stock b16 today. On one tester it was 160-60-160-160...looked to be straight blown up from those numbers. Then we tested on my tester and it got 215-195-215-215. Try another tester and make sure the throttle is wide open.

Thanks for all the messages, I think it is fine just want to wait for this Mon. when it gets tuned at Evans. Hoping for 350wHP, got my fingers crossed.
