Compression Test #'s B16 w/ 9.1 pistons HELP!!!
Ive got a built B16 with 9.1 CP pistons and needed to know what #'s are good for a new built 9.1 engine. I got 160-156-164-159 I know I've got consistency but is that good for a new block??? Thanks for any help Ooh and this was on a ice cold engine

you need to do it with the engine warm and with the throttle at wide open. make sure you pull out the ECU fuse also so that it does not inject fuel while you crank. and crank it about 5-6 times rather than 3-4.
don't be discouraged with those number......every compression tester gauge will be different. as long as they are all within 10-15psi of each other the engine is fine.

different testers vary. My friend tested his stock b16 today. On one tester it was 160-60-160-160...looked to be straight blown up from those numbers. Then we tested on my tester and it got 215-195-215-215. Try another tester and make sure the throttle is wide open.
