compression ratios on boost
i currently have a stock jdm gsr motor. i will be ditching my jrsc for a peakboost kit and run about 10psi. i am planning on dropping my CR using a thicker headgasket.
will i see a big difference vs. my stock CR. i know i will be able to run more timing with lower CR. i also have a water injection kit as a back up. my goal is to have about 300whp. and i would like to keep it realible.

Re: compression ratios on boost (iNERtIA)
Lowering the compression will allow you to make the power by adding more boost. Raising the boost is obviously where you will see the power difference.

hey, i have the same motor as you and i also turboed it, runnin 10lbs daily now for over a year, still runs strong and had a compression and leakdown test a few weeks ago and my mechanic siad it was in better condition then most stock gsr motors that went in. well anyways all i did to the motor was install a thicker cometic heavy duty headgasket, i think it was a .043" thick and it was multilayer and i also installed arp headstuds which i highly recommend. i also put in skunk 2 titanium valve springs and titanium retainers and put brand new valve seals in also....i worked out my compression on a online compression calculator and it went from 10.6 down to about 10.28 and although its a small change, i think itll help ur motor out. i think you should def. do the thicker cometic headgasket and arp headstuds, thats all u need and a very good tune. nobody thought my car would last this long, i proved them all wrong, oh it also recently passed emissions also. goodluck

lol 8.5:1 arius forged pistons, probe I-beam rods, 3 layer metal head gasket, complete head rebuild and kms eng. block gaurd. so far in my sohc zc non v-tec. Just waiting for clutch to get here so I can get it all balanced together considering the rods are nearly 3 time thicker than stock and I'm going to be running a 8.5 lbs flywheel. This is also going to be my daily driver on 10-15 lbs of boost. I bet I could run 30 lbs with my low as compression but my ***** are quite that big lol. But as it was said so many times above, the key to a reliable engine is tuning. The tuning can make or break or engine, as well as your wallet lol.

Re: compression ratios on boost (92gsrteg)
yeah, thats the same gasket/ studs im looking into. i wanna try to get it just under 10.0 i just wanted to know if it'll make a big impact by doing this at the same boost level, or some dyno #'s would be nice. i only plan to run 10-12psi MAX. so far im running about 10psi on my non-intercooled JRSC w/ methanol and its seems to be running alright.
