messed up pistons and compression test...
kinda a messed up question...i should know the anwser to this, but i wanna re-assure myself.
im suspossed to buy a built D16 this week, it compression tested good.
there is another guy who is running the exact same set-up the exact same way and melted some pistons in it.
my question...think the pistons are shot also in the engine im suspossed to be buying, even though the compression test came out fine?
kinda worded this wrong, but i think you get the point...

Your question doesn't make sense but I think I get it. The same setup don't mean the piston is melted in every case...if the compression is good, your rings and piston are prolly holding up. THe reason why other the guy melted his piston could be because he was running too high of a boost or too lean etc...there are many variables. The best way is take off the cylinder head and pour some gasoline ontop the top of the piston and see if it seeps. If it doesn't and the piston looks fine, then its fine.
i am gonna try to explain it another way.
I havent been able to get ahold of the guy this weekend (hes out of town) but he pulled the head on A engine and he said 2 of the pistons are messed. (he told someone else this) im pullin my hair out tryin to figure out if the engine with the messed up pistons is the engine im gettin...
compression test is almost perfect.
i cant imagine with perfect compression test results 2 pistons would be messsed.

there is no way the pistons can be fucked.
