Compression Ratio Help
I am getting pistons (probably Arias) made for my f22b turbo motor and i need some advice on what to go on the CR.i was told stock is 8.8:1 so should i keep it the same drop it to 8.5:1 or raise it a bit to 9:1 for better off boost power. the motor is daily driven.

Re: Compression Ratio Help (cl4show)
you will be fine with 9.1:1. though that moter is prone to detonation in high rpm, under boost. if you are getting pistons then i assume you want to go big with the boost if you want that you will also have to get injectors, and piggy back computers, or standalone and goooood tuning. won't be cheap.
I knew this gut with 447 whp out of his f22. he was boosting 22lb and revving to 9000 pretty good for a sohc huh needless to say this is not a street motor
for a daily driver 9.1:1 will be fine, and you could probably get 10psi on it daily
with some fuel enrichment but it is an open deck so don't push it to hard

Re: Compression Ratio Help (fowler)
well as opposed to what the other guys said, if you're upgrading the entire bottom end anyway why not go with the lower compression pistons? you'll be able to run more boost and get more power. 8.5:1, your off boost condition will probably be crappy though less power/torque. with a higher compression though you will be more likely to detonate unless you use high octane gas.
I would look into some more before deciding.

Re: Compression Ratio Help (fowler)
No no, thats another guy! I think he has a b16 swap. He does have an N1, loud as hell. I can hear him pulling away while I am in class. I have a blue Integra with the SPW388 ripoffs. He has mugen ripoffs.
By the way, my motor has 10.5:1 compression and I am gonna be bosting in the next few months. Its all about how you set it up.

Re: Compression Ratio Help (BlueShadow)
8.5:1 sounds good but what if for some reason i decide to take off the turbo then how am i going to be able to raise the compression without swapin the pistons for stocks
