code 0 on hondata, should i get it dyno'd?
alright my caris throwing a code 0 (constant cel) means the ecu is bad... yeah and it did smoke and this lil black thing popped open but it doesnt run in limp mode.. hondata work on it(little red light blinks though).. i think i did the wiring wrong but i THINK i fixed it... it runs fine now except for it running too rich at partial throttle due to my basemap... im getting a dyno tune for 120...
NOW my question is should i fix the ecu then dyno tune it or should i get the new ecu yada yada yada... im kinda thinking ifi dyno it and its running fine as it is with the burnt ecu and the code 0 it'll still come up with the same numbers as if i had a regular unburnt ecu right? cuz it runs normally...
also can you tune hondata if the light is blinking?

Get a new ECU then tune.
You cannot tune a Hondata is the interface box is flashing.
The error code says BAD ECU....that means you have a BAD ECU.

Re: d (boostedcivichatchbacksi)
yes i had this problem also when i got my hondata installed
i had a CEL but it wasnt a code when we tired to look for the code
it wouldnt blink , so
the guy at the shop took my chip out and he checked it on
the labtop and it found out the problem ...
i am using a chipped p28 ecu for my b16a2
the chip they sent me was for a p30 and thats why it threw me a cel
he changed it for a p28 ecu and bam all perfect cel went alway
if i were u , i would take out your chip in your ecu and go have it checked to
make sure its for your ecu !

Will it rev past 3000 rpms? Sounds like a soldering problem at the chip or a bad burn on the chip itself... Clip the jumper on J1 and see if the problem goes away... If it does, its the chip or chipping work...
