Hondata s200 "cel" How to scan for a code
The engine is an ls/vtec running an obd1 vtec hondata s200 ecu, the car is throwing a cel while driving besides that seems to be running ok until the engine light comes on and it goes into limp mod. Question is how can i scan for the code ive tried jumping the service connector and all that does is turn off the cel light, ive also tried jumping the ecu directly using the service pin and the ground pin also just turns off the cel but come back on once jumper is removed.. I do not have the option of connecting the hondalogger to the ecu at this moment.. is there something i missed shouldnt jumping the ecu drectly flash a code ? Or does the s200 disable that feature on the ecu? Please help

Sounds to me like your connection between the ECU and the S200 box is intermittant. The CEL that goes away when you jump the SCS is telling me the ECU is not working. Is it possible your chip is loose in the socket in your ECU? If not, check the ribbon cable and connectors that runs from the S200 to the ECU.
