Clutch Suggestions on 450ish whp Daily Driver
Well, I've read alot and I'm still really undecided. I dont have the big bucks for a tilton twin setup, I maybe could afford the single. But I was also thinking about the Exedy Hyper. Any suggestions? Ive used several ACT kits in the past but I'm unsure if the ACT XT/SS will hold that much power and even last and I've never really delt with a Clutchmasters setup. If possible I'd still like to use a sprung hub disc, I cant stand the race disc clutch chatter bullshit, especially for the daily driver and I dont mind if I have to buy a new flywheel either.
Setup
Built Ls/vtec (Crx)
450ish whp +/- 50hp hah
Any input would be appricated

That would be a race disc correct? meaning a non-sprung hub?

ACT Max Extreme Pressure Plate with 6 puck. I have had zero Chatter and the pressure on the pedal is fine. I think it is the XX-R6

I am sure you will be happy with the Action 2MD. It's soo streetable it's crazy. My little brother drove my car with no problems with the clutch.

you let your little brother touch your car?!
i was running an XT-r6 (xtreme pressure plate and 6 puck unsprung). it was very streetable, until it went out after 5000 miles
now im back to the xtss (xtreme pressureplate and street disc). It claims to hold 311ftlb of tq so i should be in the clearing for my goals of high 300whp.

might wanna check out RPS clutches http://www.turboclutch.com
they are really big in the supra crowd....they offer a 6puck spung hub. this is what my friend runs in his 400whp civic..unfortunaltly he only got to run the clutch for about the break in period then something in his motor f-ed up so he didnt get to abuse it much...it is a stiff clutch but is streetable.
they also make a carbon/carbon clutch that is suppose to be totally badass..im not 100% sure they make it for honda/acura though...ide check it out

Re: Clutch Suggestions on 450ish whp Daily Driver (gritsak)
One of our guys (Lane) finally got his ACT HD PP with his 6 puck disk to slip on his GSR turbo motor... It's stock sleeved with 81.25mm JE 9.5:1 pistons, rods, Portflow head, T3/T04E, and Hondata (making 375whp on 13lbs.) It's best to date is a 11.50@122 in his full inteior EJ6... I'm sure an ACT Xtreme PP would hold better tho we've been able to slip them with ~500whp... Titlon's are the **** (and I would recommend them anyday) but that would probably be a bit of overkill... Good Luck, Peace

Re: (g2turbo)
unsure of my hp because i've never been to a dyno, but my best is 11.41 at 129.2 with wheel spin out of the hole, using an act xtreme pp w/ 4 puck disk for two years now.

Should be solid because ACT told me on the phone they have never made sprung puck discs.
