Default Closed deck block.

Hey guys.
I'm wanting a bit more power from my b16.
It running 300hp on 8psi.
I want to get it to 350-400.
I have a spare block with eagle rods and srp Pistons. The only problem is the block has been over bored by 0.5. (Pistons are oversized too)

My tuner recommends I close the deck on the block.

What's your guys opinions?
How do you close the deck on the block? Do you just weld in a block guard?

Thanks.

He probably means install Darton sleeves. Stock sleeves are fine for 400hp, plenty people running more than this on stock sleeves without issues so IMO you don't need to sleeve the block.

Darton, AEBS, or Golden Eagle sleeves. You don't need them for 400 BHP, you just need a forged rotating assembly and a competent tuner.

Ok cool. Some great info. Thanks.

What about the block I've got with the .5 overbore and matching Pistons? Will it be ok up to 350-400hp?

As long as your tuner knows what he's doing, yes.
