Default Clearing the internal wastegate of a T3?

I'm putting together a homemade turbo kit for my sohc motor. my problem is that the wastegate for the turbo is hitting my block. i'm running a hf manifold with a plate and its not clearing my wastegate and the wastegate is leaning against the block (not good). i just want to know how do you guys with a t3 turbo clear your wastegate from the block.

well....

you had to make an adapter plate right?

make a new one and angle it away.

What about mounting the turbo the other direction? e.g., instead of the compressor on the passenger side, have the compressor on the driver side.
