Default chipped crank pulley:( still good?

I broke a piece off my crank pulley. I was wondering if the missing piece would throw the balance off. What do you think? Will it be ok to use?

Ive broke a small piece off of mine before, but thats ginormous. Out of balance obviously, how much, I dont know. But do you want to find out at 8500rpm?

Pretty easy fix if that bolt isnt seized

You can always take it off and have it turned down past the broken portion and check quick for cracks

I don't know what it looks like to you in the pic but only the lip is missing nothing else.

I was holding the pulley with a chain wrench to brake the bolt loose. I did it many times on my other engine and had no problem. This is a 95 engine so the metal may be more fatigued.

I think I have another crank pulley at my disposal so I'll change it over

they are really easy to break edges off like that. my h22 pulley has chips all over it but i don't use it anymore due to me getting a fluidampr.

Get a new one. The harmonics on that dampener aren't going to be too nice to your rotating assembly.

Yea, the longblock I bought had a pully that looked the same way. I ended up getting a fluidamper. Just make sure you have a harmonic balancer puller ($20 oriley's) because it's a bitch to get on/off.

Get a new one. I've seen stuff like that destroy oil pumps at high rpms.
