it looked and sounded to me like cheese hit the gas first but the viper still jumped out half car ahead. torque/traction, then 3rd gear looked like cheese pulled and 4th gear it looked like the viper pulled and they both shut down when cheese topped out 4th. im 90% sure hes running an LS tranny, maybe thats why he can get traction on a 3rd gear roll. cheese where ya at?

 

it seems to me when they hit it, there was a slight delay in the civic, maybe no full throttle(for traction issues) or turbo lag slightly, cause he hits it but theres a little second there were you dont here it pick up..
anyways. enough analyzing..sick cars!

 

After some people discussed the rotors on his car glowing, i down loaded the video again. I have never seen rotors glow like that before. Is that common while braking at high speeds?

Yes, every cars rotors will glow after you hit the brakes @ 120+

 

I've even seen sparks fly off some rotors when stopping from high speeds before. You'd be red hot too if you were trying to stop a car from that speed that quickly!

That is one bad hatchie too... Gotta love the look on the guys face in the Viper!

ehhh thats my fault.. Ive been more concerned with keeping the car alive than having a working speedo. He hasnt complained too much anyway.. Ill fix it before tx2k3 this weekend.

No worries Jason. I just took note of the speedo trying discern acceleration. Keep us posted, I'm infatuated with his hatch as it closely (even down to the suspension) mimicks mine. Im eager to see how this engine performs.

if you read earlier in the post. the camera is using nightvision thats why it will pick up the extra heat. with the hightvision off you would not see that in the video.

 

i retract my last commenet about it being quiet and all...

apparently the entire video did no download and when i saw him throw up "3" with his fingers, that was the end of my video.....that's why i said that

ok im not taking anything away from this kidd, the car is clean and he did a real nice set up and its fast but all i know is that, at that power number even with a 60-1 my car spins like crazy it just lights them up on tires or any other street radial. i think motormatrix will agree when u have over 400 to the wheels any street radial will light up as soon as boost kicks in. **** even on slicks my **** spins when boost kicks in even when i turn down the boost to 20lbs. oh yeah and motormatrix when u coming down to cali so u can play with the big boyz i need some new toys to play with that r willing to put down some real money.

yeah, why not take the trip over here. I just drove to texas a couple weeks ago and that was not fun at all. i cant imagine going to cali. The only money races we get here are domestics and supras really. I'll take every dollar i can get too.

 

I did read the whole thread, but looking at the other vid with supposedly that same viper on the track I doubt that civic could even come close to keeping up with it. But then again camera angles were meant to be used and abused..

 

calis way better, nicer weather, nicer chicks and way faster cars. been to florida it sucks out there humid as hell. if u guys run florida then i think u would be willing to go other places to race **** il even hook u guys up with a place to stay, now thats a deal.

 

its called the viper gains almost twice the power with the nitrous set up which HE WAS NOT RUNNING in the video.

and about the brakes. ive seen brakes glow orange with my own eyes on a freinds car. it easily can happen
