Not to be rude or flippant about it, but the cheapest bestest turbo kit is the one you build for yourself after doing lots of research and deciding on your specific goals! Knowing what you *really* want is half of the problem, and researching the best way to get there is the rest of it. I'm sorry, but making a post asking "which turbo kit is both cheapest and best" won't get you the answers you seek.

I'll still give you props though. You can save lots of money by making your own kit, with good parts, and save lots. Example, Drag Kit, $3200. The kit I pieced together, $2500. Now that's not huge savings, but I got all quality stuff, Turbonetics turbo, Full-Race manifold, Tial wastegate, Greddy BOV, and so on. Piece one together.

Not rude- just sick of people wanting to be feed the info rather than doing a little legwork. i pieced my own kit together from most of what i read up on the faq's and reading about other people' setup.

Doesn't that seem like alot of money JUST for a NOS setup? I never bought a NOS setup so I could be wrong but to me, thats alot of money for that kind of setup. Could have used that money for major engine upgrades.

Damn, my entire budget for my built D16 turbo (inc. vehicle) is around $4k! And I'm hoping for 300-400 whp.
I'd say in kit form, get a Greddy kit with an 18g turbo.

^^^ what he said
Except that I'd say 2k for sourcing it yourself will get a very nice kit (if just for turbo parts, not motor)

I am all for putting a custom kit turbo together, you learn things like, that wastegate isnt a bov or hey fmu's suck and my favorite vafc's are not standalone's check out http://www.turboelements.com for some turbo parts, good luck!
I agree. The products the turo kits come with are just not up to standards. The kit i'm piecing together will end up costing 4300. Just for parts. Yes, i like quality. And thats without a sleeved block..........just can't beat custom.
Most people end up changing parts after they get their kit anyway, why not just start off with what you want.
