Default CEL with the Missing Link and Horrible Idle

Im running the TD04-15G kit on my 1997 Civic EX with the OBD2-OBD1 conversion. The car runs strong as hell but im having 2 problems. For some reason the ECU could not find a confortable idle speed. IT just keeps climing and droping (900-1300)and so on until it drop to like 300 rpms. Thats problem 1. Problem 2 is the CEL jsut came on but i reset it without checkign the code. It did go into limp mode which blows but what do you think could have caused the CEL and the irratic idle? Here's my setup:

1997 Civic EX
OBD2-OBD1 Conversion
P28 Del Sol ECU
Greddy TD04-15G Kit
Custom Intercooler 30 X 5 X 2
B&M Adjustable Pressure Reg set at 40psi
Vortech FMU 12:1 (i know what your thinking but its jsut to hold me over until hondata)
Venom 255lph fuel pump
Eclipse 1st gen crused BOV
Random Tech cat
Tanabe Racing Medallion Exhaust cat back
Synapse Missing Link

Any information would be a help and thanks

From personal experience on my turbo car. The missing link wasnt working on my car, but I had no clue it was bad. I drove on a bad link and kept throwing CEL's and car kept going into limp mode. I still didnt have a clue it was the missing link. I always thought it was my fuel problem. Turned out that when I un-installed my turbo kit and went all stock. My map sensor was still good and I wasnt throwing anymore CEL's. Turbocharged it again about 2 weeks later and threw on the missing link. Same shiet...so right then i knew it was the missing link that was bad. I tossed in some check valves from walmart...hehe.. and everything worked out great.

Sometimes when we buy new parts from shops, we think it works cause it's new. But most parts that we buy arent always in proper working conditions. What if you were the 1 out of 100 that got a defective part... This is the second time that it happened to me on my missing link. Bought 2 and both of them was fucked up.

Anyways..try using check valves and lose the link...it might work

I guess youre not using a Synapse Mising link..and thats what happens when u dont use one..other cheaper imitations will just fail to work properly...

Which one ure using?

Could be also the jumper..on a turbo car from a guy here he had erratic iddle and the cause was the OBDII-OBDI jumper..they bought a Skunk2 jumper and problem solved.

The jumper is a home made one bought off of ebay and the missing link is a synapse. I have heard though this forum that the irratic idle is common with the jumper do to the difference is IAC's from the 92-95 and the 96-00 and i have alos heard that the trottle body would also have to match the ecu used.

Both the missing link were distributed from Synapse. I bought them both brand new from a local reputable shop in Irvin called Dynamic Autosports. For sure they dont sell knock off brands.

If you're any good at soldering.. make yourself a FCD.. it'll cost you under 5US$ to make one.. and works awsum (I made it for myself). No missing link s**t

Question..Does your Throttle Body has the IAC mounted underneath it or do you have it mounted on the Manifold?.

If you have both(Iac on the throttle and manifold) then u need to seal the one on the Throttle body, simply put a plate betwen the sensor an throttle..I had this problem of erratic iddle when i changed from a y7 manifold(IAC on Throttle) to a Z6 manifold(IAC on manifold).
