CEL Code 3 MAP Sensor. Jackson Racing
sorry i guess i didint take this thread to much into consideration considering its a supercharged motor(prob should have kept my mouth shut)but either way his problem has to do with the map sensor so like you said its gotta be something with the wiring of hondata or somethis with the map sensor because its its tuned for boost it shouldnt be tripping those codes. ehhhh **** it i am an idiot

if its tuned for boost you dont need a missing link. jesus christ
i think its a problem with hondata,</TD></TR></TABLE>
HAHA thanks man,
Yes i do have s200 with BOOST
Is there any way i can check to see if the Hondata is reading things right? Do i need special software to plug in a labtop and monitor whats going on? or can i do that with any labtop?????
Thanks again as always guys

its either a wiring issue or a hondata issue. unless both mapsensors were fucked which is highly unlikely.
have you checked your conversion harness?

no need, its OBD-1
Could anything else throw a map sensor code? Like any other sensors? Because the Map sensor is wired in fine and im pretty positive on that.
Thanks

I thought of this but the car was running fine for about a week. And it was on the dyno running beautifully.
Thats the thing that throws me for a loop is that its something that came loose, went bad, since its been tuned.
Thansk for the reply

there is only a few things i can think of.. chek the map sensor with a volt meter to see if its actually working right and take it back to your tuner cause it might just be a problem with your hondata..
good luck

This is what i was thinking. I need to find somebody who has a voltmeter i can borrow.
As for taking it back to my tuner, the shop is 300 miles away
Thanks for the reply

where do you have your map sensor mounted at right now? if you have hondata w/ boost options you should have the map sensor mounted where it could read boost . i know the jr supercharger kit still have the map sensor locate on the throttle body, which will not read boost. you should tee the map sensor with one of the vaccumn lines in the manifold.

yep i have the vacume line from the manifold that used to run to the FMU now running to the map sensor. I just have it ziptied to the firewall.

just in case anybody ever has this problem again, as it seems nobody has ever before me... Heres what the problem is ( I think)
I checked the voltage at the map sensor, and the white/yellow wire had no voltage with the ignition on.
I then checked those wires back to the ECU to see that the ECU was sending no voltage out.
I guess i need a new ecu...

This is the same exact problem that im having right now but using the hack and also tried using missing link but still getting code. Seems like cel comes on when vtc is supposed to be kicking in.

Dont use missing link if you have HONDATA

First off, I want to apologize for all the retards that seem to be drawn to this thread
.
As for the ECU - you didn't buy a new one did you? Since yours is a decade old, it might be leaking some caps inside. Take off the cover and look to see if any of the capacitors are leaking. If they are, it can cause some serious problems. Problems with leaky capacitors are usually discovered right after the ECU is chipped (which appears to be your situation).
Also, I'm a bit confused about the IAT sensor - you pulled on it, and the wires popped out? Did you buy a new IAT sensor? If not, your ECU will think your intake temps are lower than they really are and you will run a bit rich. That might be why your plugs are black.

Also, if you open your ECU and wire a data-logging cable to the CN port, you can use ECU Control (ecucontrol.com) to log the actual MAP readings that your ECU is seeing.
If ECU Control logs some weird MAP values, then you know your MAP sensor or MAP sensor wiring is bad.
