maybe try getting a shorter return line so it doesnt have so much slack. Do you have a bigger picture so we can see where the turbo sits to see if it is even possible to get a better angle?

PS i love spy hunter lol

Yeah, we need better pics. Reasons for smoke:
1. Turbo seals 2. Bad return line 3. Too big of a feed line 4. Rings You decide.

I will try that, the wastegate downpipe is the siver one next to turbo. It is making it hard to do that.

Add to that #5. not enough crankcase ventilation-->install some sort of crankcase pressure evacuation system. Without it, due to the increased crankcase pressure from a turbo, the pressure will try to escape out of the oil return line, causing oil to leak out of the turbo seals.

Yeah, we need better pics. Reasons for smoke:

1. Turbo seals : Still an avenue I haven't checked (don't want to take off head just yet)
compression check 1:225 2:225 3:225 4:225 leakdown 1:8% 2:8% 3:9% 4:9%

2. Bad return line: is number 1 culpret right now

3. Too big of a feed line: -3an could put in a restrictor??
4. Rings:
5. pcv systrem: current setup line from stock oil can on back of motor (no pcv valve) to catchcan to atmosphere, valve cover outlet to atmosphere.

Yeah, looks like your return is the problem. AN 3 is fine for a feed line. That return is not getting enough gravity. You're going to have to figure out how to get it more vertical, good luck.

Good job looking like an idiot... I can attest to first hand how a sealed pcv system will push oil out the turbo seals.... my rigged catchcan has both VC and PCV system into it... frozen vapor clogged both lines and I was instant Spy Hunter.... cleared them... gone.

A good PCV system is so easily overlooked... and the one mentioned by the thread starter isn't going to be causing his issue.

That's it?? Your single contribution to this thread is to call me stupid and then give no reason for making such an accusation....wtf? Whatever, I guess this is what I should expect from the ignorant and uneducated.

So the way I have mine hooked up is ok??
VC to atmosphere
Black box on back of block to catchcan to atmosphere (no pcv valve installed)

try putting a 45 degree off of the oil pan and try to make the center section point straight down as best as you can.

I think the drain is acceptable, ive seen worse. Its got no kinks and its elevated higher than the oil drain bung on the oil pan.

read my findings https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1544369

An easy test that i did was pull valve cover and rear PCV valve and take it out for a little drive and see what happens. if the smoke clears than you know what is causing your smoke screen issues.

my return looks very similar to that...

and my car smokes only when i come to a stop after a hard pull or revs constant at 3000+ (freeway)

but when i start moving or revving it stops

with a lowered car, that flat surface of the front of the oilpan isnt exactly perpindicular to the ground as it is...its actually sloped against the desired flow.
