Default Catch can smoke/steam(video)

I read that its normal to have some steam/smoke coming from your catch can and I'd like to know if the ammount that is coming from mine is normal or if I should be concerned about blow by. Motor is a dohc zv mildly built for boost but has not seen any boost yet. 15-20 000kms on the motor. Anyway heres the video.

That's more than normal if you are just idling.

Can you say that a little more clearly haha? So yours smoked like that and it wasn't loosing any oil and the compression was fine?

And the exhaust sounds nothing like that haha, just shitty phone video and shitty photobucket quality conbined I guess.

The video was taken at idle after a few good revs.

well when I drive my civic around and i open the hood it smokes just like yours if not more. But I know im running way to rich and need a new tune. But im not loosing oil or buring it, and yes i just had a compression check done and it was 100% normal.

It has a catch can because it's getting boosted. Good to hear that this happens to others and all is good, I'm pretty sure I'm running rich also, i can smell quiet a bit of unburnt fuel alot of the time. Still going to a compression test in the near future. Gonna also do an oil change then drive it a bunch to see if I'm loosing any oil. Hopefully I won't have to do a rebuild before it even see's boost haha.

I have seen a few all motor setups use catch cans. I had asked the same thing and they said it lowers the crankcase pressures which allow the piston to move back and forth easier.

Do a leak down on it just for the sake of knowing how healthy the motor is.

x2 For those people who said their motor doesn't have blow by is rubbish. New motors have blow by thus the pcv system.

Try this, open you oil cap while your engine running hot or cold, I'm highly sure that air would puff out. And the fact that our cars have over head cams means that as those cams are turning it displaces air, in which you feel puffing out. I tested this on my dad's new mazda 3, It puffs out air like my accord. I tested my friends LS3 & LS5 V8's & no air coming out since it is push rods.

Not saying they don't , but a leak down test is a good way to see how well the engine is sealing. A small percentage is leak down is ok, but once you start passing that number you know something is up with that cylinder.
