catch can options
alright, from my understanding, pcv valves close under pressure conditions to prevent the pressurized oil from getting into the intake track. When you let off the gas, they open and allow the pressurized air from the crankcase to be drawn into the intake and be reburned.
My question is, when you remove the stock pcv sytem, plug it up, and run a catch can off the two 14mm ports from the back of the block to the IM, does that mean that the crankcase is being continuously vented (even under full throttle)? and is that a good thing being that there is little to no pressure?
My next question is, if i ran it this way, would it be wise to plug the valve cover nipple?

theres hundreds of threads on this.
dont plug your valve cover nipple, either vent it with a filter or run a line o your catch can. your valve cover needs to be vented just like your crank case.

How do you vent the crank case on a jdm block-like my b20b?I have heard that you remove one of the oil plugs on the back of the block and replace it with a fitting/hose that goes to a vent/catch can. If anyone has the specs of the plug-thread size-that would be nice, so I could make one tommorow-oh yea and Im tired of searching and finding nothing thanks

so could the factory black box be kept hooked up in factory style and just put 2 vents on the valve cover to a catch can?..would this be enough or do u also need 2 vents on the back of the block aswell going to a catch can?

Re: catch can options (snowbunny)
From my understanding, the black box is an oil separator. It will separate most of the oil going back into the IM; however, it can not catch the oil/moisture vapors. That’s the purpose of the catch can. From what you describe, venting only the valve cover will filter some of the vapors but you will still have some vapor going back into the motor because the “black box” is still not being filtered through a catch can. If you’re planning to keep the black box, I would suggest putting a catch can between it and the IM.

curious guys....when you know there are 100's of posts on the topic your talking about, why do you make another post instead of searching? A you really that lazy?
The answer to any catch can question has been answered. Don't make us spoon feed you, like a baby, otherwise you'll get treated like a baby.
U have to understand, after being on here for years....you get tired of reading the same type of thread over and over and over and over and over, and it gets beat to death, no new information.
noobs.

If I remember correctly there is a thread titled something like.......oh yea "Honda-Techs official catchcan thread." Seems kinda self explanatory to me.
