Default car started smoking

my car just started smoking out of the blue. i wasnt even pushing it at the time that it started smoking. i was just driving and came to a light and smoke was coming from under my hood. i pulled over to check what it was and there was a lot of smoke coming out of my breather filter. and my car idle's like ****. ive been told it was my ring lands. but ive taken the head off. and there is no sign that there has been oil into the combustion chamber. just a clean burn. could it be possible that it was my center section that was smoking and all the smoke went through the return line and into the pan and out the top of the cover? i dont know if thats possible. just a thought i guess. and my car idling like crap. could i have bent a valve? i dont know. someone please help me out. thanks in advance
