Can you use a clamp to secure a stainless hose on a barbed fitting?
If youre running a stainless hose for water to and from a turbo, and you use a barbed fitting in the turbo. Can you just use a screw down clamp on the end of the hose to secure it like you would a regular rubber hose on the barb?
I know you can buy fittings for the stainless line but if there is another way that will work (dont care if it looks bad) then let me know.
Thanks all

You can use clamps but it might leak best bet is to use the right hose ends . but cost way more then clamps ..

I guess you could if you wanted, but there is no need and depending on the maker of the hose barb, they specifically warn against it. Aeromotive and Earls and I think Russel specifically recommend against clamps on the their barb fittings.
I'm not sure why people don't trust barb fittings, but if you've ever tried to pull a hose off a barb fitting you'll realize that they are very secure. And a lot easier/quicker to use correctly than the standard hose ends.

Ive seen people clamp regular ss line plenty of times, works the same as when you clamp and other silicone or rubber line.

Do you think it would matter what type of clamp I used? Is there really a difference between the kind that you squeeze the ends with pliers and slid on, VS the kind that you slip on then tighten with a screw?

I did this today. Not onto barbed fittings but smooth pipe 1" long. It functions fine and doesn't look too bad if you care about looks. Stainless braided hose is great for clamping IMO
