can it be re-used or replace?
as the title says would you re-use this JE piston? i got a hell of a deal for 4 eagle rods and 4 JE pistons (120 bucks) just looking them over saw this. for 120 bucks im not bitching.
if i re-place do i just contact JE??
its going to be in a 600+ H2B turbo drag car

How do the skirts look? If the skirts are fine get them rebalanced and run em.
Nothing contacts the bottoms of the pistons.
Shave down really sharp edges, balance, reuse.

As long as there's no damage to the underside of the piston top and that the pin bosses haven't bent or warped you should be okay. Put a pin in it and check that it rotates and moves smoothly, also put a rod on the piston and see if the piston is straight inline with the rod
If all is good simply and carefully file/grind/polish the damage away as best as possible and you should be fine
Hell my 2 of my pistons have material transfer damage on the pin side of the piston and the machine shop said they were fine to use.
