Ok. So I took my pistons to the machine shop with the rods and the wrist pins. But they said that they dont know which way the pistons go on the rods. So there are numbers on the rods on just one side. Which way does the arrow on top of the piston go compared to the number facing you? does it look like this?

I have a couple of pistons in front of me..
One is a D16a6 and the other is a d15b7...

with the number on the rod facing me,
the arrow on either piston points left..

According to the manual you should be able to see the
oil hole in the connecting rod when the arrow on the piston points left...
And the arrow should be pointing to the timing belt when installed..

Don't know about the #'s on the rod but, as installed in the motor the bearing tangs in the rod are toward the exhaust.

 

ok, now it makes sence. so the arrow points towards the timing belt. And the oil hole on the one side of the piston faces you, which would face towards the intake manifold when instaled. and the two notches where the bearings sit, face the exhaust manifold when instaled. thanks for clearing it up

 

Arrows always point towards timing belt. Same for cam holders and block mains.

 

yeah i know that points towards the timing belt. but my question was which way does the rod connect to the piston. So, when the arrow is pointing to the left which way is the rod. is the oil hole forward or the notches for the bearings.

 

A direct quotation from the CRX manual :

'The arrow must face the timing belt side of the engine
and the connecting rod oil hole must face the rear of the engine.'
