can i run low compression pistons with a stock ecu/tune??

can i run low compression pistons with a stock ecu/tune??

im starting the build of a b18c1 for turbo. if i wanted to swap the motor in with only low comp pistons (9:1) and no turbo would it run well stock or would i have to get it tuned?? the reason is that i want to get the motor in and running before i turbo.

It'll run fine, it'll just be slower than before.
