cam timing adjustment on a sohcvtec turbo
wats the point of having a cam gear on a sohcvtec? from wat i was told the dizzy is cam driven so isnt that actually adjusting the cam timing also with the ignition timing? just curious because my car's cam gear is adjusted 2 degrees advanced and i was wondering if i will have to adjust it by the cam gear or can i do it by the distributor? just curious and wondering because i just remembered this and tuning is being done tom morning

cam and dizzy timing are independent but, I haven't seen great gains in cam tuning on a sohc. you should see more gains in a non-vtec. I woudn't spend the money on an adjustable cam gear for the vtec sohcs.

ya but the cam gear was already on the car thats wat i mean. so are u saying i should bring the cam gear back to stock for tuning? so it cant be affected by adjusting the distributor?its advanced 2 degrees now i just want to bring it back to 0
