cam seal leaking???

cam seal leaking???
i took off my distributor cap and there was oil in it. do u guys think its the cam seal?? is that easy to fix? has anyone changed theres??

It's not hard at all. Just take the valve cover off and look at the cam seal part and take the 2 top bolts off and pop it off. Do a search , has been covered plenty of times thats why you haven't gotten to many replies.

There is some grey stuff VatoZone sells, that is similar to Hondabond. I would replace it with a GE cam plug, they are fairly cheap and worth the extra few bucks. I JUST replaced mine like 2 weeks ago with an OEM unit and it was leaking again. Replaced it with a GE one 2 days ago and not a bit of a leak.

GE = golden eagle?
also, c-speedracing.com has an article on changing cams and I think it would tell u how to change the cam seal as one of the steps.

If you have oil on your distributor it's not because of the cam seal.
There's a seal on the distributor shaft that needs to be changed. It looks like an o-ring. In fact, I think it's called distributor o-ring.
