front camshaft seal
i purchased two new front cam seals and they dont seem to fit correctly.
i double checked and they are the right ones. does anyone know the correct way to install front cam seals

No.. i believe you do take them out. Seeing as how he said he bought two of them... seals that is.
there is only one cam plug, since the other side has a distributor on it.

:: on you! The seal you are talking about is the cam plug. The cam seals come in TWO (2) and you need to take out the camshafts to install them. THE CAM PLUG on the other hand (see picture of STR cam plug above, is the one neareast the distributor.

Just take off the valve cover, take out the piece that holds the cam seal, clean the surface well, put a dab of hondabond on the new seal, then put everything back together.

I bought a billett one for mine, it looks tight. I was told that this seal leak was a common problem. the billet is supposed to last alot longer. just remove your valve cover and the two bolts holding down the cam seal.

my cam "plug" is leaking also .. i just ordered a STR should be in tommorrow or fri .. my new oem one lasted only about 30k miles it seams ... better luck with the STR i hope

no leaks so far with my STR cam plug. it is tight plus i put some rtv on it to prevent any leaks. you will like it and it looks great!
