I doubt it since it cost thousands of dollars to get something CARB aproved. Only big corporations, like greddy, can afford something like that.

yeah, that's basically impossible. It would be cheaper to just pay $150 for magic smog every time it came up. I just take the turbo off everytime.

Re: (California) Built Turbo + CARB Approved (ThePunk)
You know, I was showing my dad my turbo the other day and he told me a story. When he had his land cruiser, he swapped a chevy engine into it. Obviously putting a chevy engine into a Toyota is somewhat nonstandard. What he had to do to get it smogged was to take it to a smog ref so the ref could verify that everything was in compliance with state smog laws. He tried to tell me that if one were to make the wastegate closed, and have the BOV vent back into the intake charge somewhere that there should be no reason why a smog ref wouldnt certify it. It makes sense. If it is entirely closed loop, and meets emissions then why shouldn't it be legal? Of course whether this would work or not I don't know. I thin kI might try it when I have to smog my car. Of course that isnt for another 3 years so me= for right now.

Chris that does make sense.
We got tough emission testing in my area of Wisconsin. I am planning on registering my car in another county to get around this.

closed loop wastegate and recirclelated should make it smog legal but for some reason youll never get passed the visual. damnit cali smog laws suck

is it true even the greddy CARB approved kits are no longer smog legal if you add an intercooler?
-_- cause that kinda defeats the purpose, no?
