What to do to make 350-375hp Safely?
Car is a 94 GSR with well over 100,000 on the clock. Motors getting kinda tired and smokes pretty good upon hitting vtec. That real nice blue color Anyways I ve decided to go to the dark side and build a basic turbo GSR setup. Now my question is this. I just picked up a set of Wiseco Pistons 81.5mm 8.8:1 comp from a fellow H-T member. I know I need some rods prolly just some eagle H-Beams. What else should I do while its all apart? Someone give me the run down.
Obviously bored to 81.5mm
Micropolish the crank?
ARP head studs?
New oil pump
All new bearings
All new gaskets
As far as the head goes Im not that knowledgable
So please let me know.

Get the bottom end balanced...Head doesnt really have to be done, but some valve train would help make your setup more reliable....Arp headstuds or any aftermarket brank will be fine...
Obviously you have to pick a turbo setup to support your goals as well

As far as the head in concerned; I would keep it stock and maybe add some ITR cams.
My buddy and I had the same exact setup about a year ago and he made around 370whp on his stock gsr.
setup:
inline pro stainless manifold
sc61
RC 750cc injectors
ebay intercooler
2.5" aluminum ic piping
victor x intake manifold
tial 38mm wastegate
tial bov

I forgot to add that it has a skunk2 intake mani and throttle body. Should i just freshen the head up? I got a wierd t4 manifold I plan on using so I need 2 find a t4 turbo with an A/R to match my goals

like tegman23 said, get the bottomend balanced. as for the head, freshing it up and get new valve seals, aftermarket valvetrain and itr cams. also get rid of that t4 manifold and find a nice castiron, log or ramhorn manifold. a t3t4 57 trim with a 60/63 a/r is good for your goal.

Never hurts to get the crank checked and polished. Big power can be made on the stock head, but it never hurts to upgrade.... if you do I would send it out to have it checked over, have the guides checked and replaced if necessary, new valve seals, check the straightness of the deck and cut if necessary, and if you still have money to spend you could always throw a decent set of aftermarket springs/retainers in there.

A simple piston/rod combo and a 57 trim on pump gas will get you to your goals easily. Hell, a stock block with E85 and a slightly larger turbo will get you there too. Check out HybridLS-T's thread in FI...he's making 415whp currently on his stock block

That manifold is wild, what size wastegate is it flanged for? You should find a Turbo that has the same divided collector, it will help your spool out some with the T4 setup.

Re: What to do to make 350-375hp Safely?
so whats everyones consensus on that turbo manifold I have? I got it last yr out at SEMA as a sample product. So I figured why not use it. What A/R on a T4 should I be looking for?

If its a SEMA sample, you'd better make sure that it will fit before even getting the turbo. Samples are really that. Many times they are made strictly for SEMA and may not represent the actual product's fitment. I've brought many products that were for the show, and were actually not usable on an application because of smaller issues.

For a street car I would definately run something under 1.00 AR Divided, anything higher will be lazier than a T4 setup already is for 375hp.
