C&R vs PWR Radiators
You can get a PWR radiator for $289...and a C&R for like $400. Is there any difference between the two? As far as the number of cores...or efficiency..or size? Just trying to decide between the two as to which one to buy.

I know their both good, but the question is, what are the differences if any for the price difference besides the fan?

Haha, ^ land air, John's super cool, He ever tell you about the tri turbo airplane motor he's got a pic of in his office, crazy stuff.
If you search it out, I know Earl has talked about the PWR vs. C&R before, I could be wrong but I seem to remember something about the PWR having a more effecient cooling design.

Re: C&R vs PWR Radiators (CRX-RX)
i just got my pwr from earl in the mail earlier this week
putting it in today to see how it is
imo the only difference is that the c&r comes with a fan
but y spend that much for just a fan when u can go to advanced auto and get 1 of their slim fans for like $50

What specificaly though is better about the C&R? You say the quality is bette, but what exactly are you talking about? My main concern is cooling and if their both gonna do a good job. I'm sure their both built decently.

Re: C&R vs PWR Radiators (SpoolnG2)
As far as cooling goes, when it comes down to it, a stock civic dual core radiator works fine. The cooling difference between the pwr and c&r is probably minimal at best. The quality however is different. If you've ever seen a headgasket blow at high boost, then you know what happens to the radiator. It sees a huge pressure spike and balloons the sides. The c&r has reinforcements for that, and the core looks to be much better quality. If you're looking for the cheapest radiator, go with the pwr, if you want the best quality go with the c&r.

Hey man i would go ahead and get the C&R for you car. The reason i say this is because for the DA its much easier to mount the C&R and as tony already stated they are better quality. The PWR sticks up very high on the DA's and makes a difficult install. CHRIS

Re: C&R vs PWR Radiators (g2turbo)
You can see from the posted PWR pix, the PWR is also reinforced on the sides unlike the Fluidyne. PWR uses 18 fins per core inch whereas Fluidyne has 16. All the stock mounting tabs are included on the PWR. You also get cap and drain plugs included. These are hardly signs of being a cheaply made radiator. We have never had one problem with our PWR in the race car and we are going into our thrid season with it. And the PWR price is lower

Re: C&R vs PWR Radiators (earl)
I'm not saying that the pwr is gonna fall apart or anything and i can just about guarantee that you won't see a cooling difference between any of them. A small difference in efficiency on a radiator will not even be noticable on a car that doesn't have a problem keeping cool to begin with. It's my opinion, but I see alot of custom stuff and fabricate alot of custom stuff and can see quality...

Re: C&R vs PWR Radiators (SpoolnG2)
we have made radiators, intercoolers, end tanks etc and i feel the pwr is the best radiator out there right now.
C&R is nice, but doesnt fit all that well
PWR is almost as nice as a C&R and fits better than the C&R. i have blown 2 head gaskets on the same PWR radiator, its still perfectly straight.
Fluidyne and Koyo are junk imo.

Re: C&R vs PWR Radiators (tony1)
i put one in a crx it fit like crap, and one in a civic that fit ok, but the dowels were off by about 1/4"
i dont understand what you feel could be better fabricated on the pwr? their end tanks are (to me) nicer than the c&r?
fluidynes are paper thin. have you ever tried to cut through a pwr IC or Radiator? theyre .125 thick!! thats almost twice as thick as the box section tinker is using for his frame rails

Re: C&R vs PWR Radiators (Full-Race Geoff)
I've never tried to cut through one, but i'd imagine the c&r are just as thick. I just think the construction quality is better on the c&r, maybe it's just the design I like better. The end tanks look nicer to me and I like the side plates over the core. I've installed their regular one in a crx and it fit fine, and they also have a narrower one for the crx for turbo cars with the compressor on the drivers side.

what is the dowel spacing on the bottom? That has a lot of appeal, i didnt know they made that...
why do you recommend a fluidyne? I have seen 3 personally that became a taco after loosing a HG. they use 065
