C&R vs PWR Radiators
The dowel spacing is narrower, like on the crx hf. On the fluidyne that ballooned, it was the core, not the endtanks, right? Now that you say that though, I think i have seen more ballooned fluidynes than any other rad.

yeah its always the fluidyne cores, the endtanks really shouldnt balloon. that would be really really bad
have you ever actually seen a PWR balloon?

I have both the PWR and the C&R. The C&R goes to my car and the PWR goes to my friend's car that going to be boosted soon. It has a fal slim fan on it when I bought it.

i agree. i'd like to hear some more opinions/comparisons by people who have used/seen both.

i just talked to More Power Racing and they speciifically said that PWR does NOT make radiators for DOHC engines, that all the ones they make are for SOHC b/c the inlet and outlet on all their radiators are the smaller single-cam size. Their website says: "PWR-0918, 1992-00 Honda Civic SOHC Only, will NOT fit 99-00 Civic Si 2 row radiator" Can anyone comment on this. I have emailed PWR and will post what they say.
EDIT: I also called C&R and they are getting back to me on the wall thickness.

i can vouch for that , i have the PWR and it looks like Crap IMO . the quailty of the product could have been better, but i got it for a steal so i took it

ok, C&R called me back and here's what i found out:
I was talking w/ Kevin, who has a boosted Honda and deals w/ their import tech stuff...
The C&R endtanks are 0.065" thick. ALL their inlets and outlets are for B-series engines, even if you have a single cam. There are two core sizes: 36mm for turbo applications, and 26mm for all-motor applications.
He has been running his 26mm core (b/c 36 wasn't out back then) radiator for 3 years now at 30 coolant PSI w/ no problems. He's boosted to ~340whp daily. He said u shouldn't have a problem running a 30psi rad cap at all. The higher PSI gives the coolant a better chance of getting to the backside of the combustion chamber.
he also added that down the road, if you're pushing like 600+whp, you might want to get a bigger radiator, a lower temp fan switch (stock turns on at about 200degrees), and possibly a lower thermastat.
so i would have sealed my decision and bought the C&R, but its only 0.065 thick, like the Fluidine, while the PWR is .125". I'm definitely going to get the C&R over the PWR if what More Power Racing said is right, about PWR only making inlet and outlets for SOHC.... we'll see what PWR says.
the plot thickens, lol

ive been running a "slightly modded" PWR on my se-r for a while now......actually, ran it almost all summer with out a fan and never had any over heating problems.

That is a TOTAL LIE by More Power Racing. Tell them I said that. The Civic half sized radiator comes standard with the B sized in/outlets. I really hate vendors that will lie to make a sale. All the other mounting tabs are the same as stock which makes them an easy drop in installation. 99% of my radiator sales are for people doing the B swap with a turbo.
Buy any radiator you think is best for you. That is what capitalism is all about. BUT PLEASE DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM PEOPLE WHO LIE.

i hear ya. I had no intentions of believing it. It just doesn't make any sense that PWR, a very reputable company, would limit their products to an engine that most people throw out. They weren't lieing for a sale though. He truely believed it. Him telling me that caused me to not buy it from them.

So it seems to me the PWR and C&R are the best choices out of all of the radiators out there. Anyone with a DA with either one of them in their car?
