Default Built LSV Identify Tick/Knock

Ok guys I have this ticking or more like knocking sounds on light acceleration. At idle it sounds fine, but when I start accelerating it starts at about 2k rpms and is on to about 5-6k rpms and thru out it doesn't get louder but stays at about the same volume. When I let go of the peddal at 6k rpms and let it fall down to lower rpms it never ticks, only on acceleration. Also, if I'm driving at about 25mph and shift into 5th gear and press the peddal down, it doesn't tick. So it's always under no load acceleration. Vibration? I'll upload a video soon. Thanks for your help.

Sounds like rod knock buddy.

Check your valve lash first tho.

Do you have a oil gauge?

I wouldnt drive it anymore

Oil gage reads fine, I don't think it would be a rod knock because like I said, it's fine at idle. Id doesn't get louder as the rpms increase and its golden eagle rods

I don't know. Car runs fine as always. The strange thing about this is that it stops when in gear I let go of the gas pedal and the noise stops

I would start with a long screw driver near the oil pan and work my way up... I had a friend crack a sleeve and it sounded like piston slap which makes sense

This motor is sleeved my golden eagle and it drives just fine. Cracked sleeve would have compression loss and drive like crap, mine drives fine

My timing belt is loose. Everytime the noise comes on, I see the timing belt just start flapping all over. And when the knock stopes than the timing belt rotates fine.

Sounds like sticking LMA's. If you're still running piston style, ditch them for the spring-type.

Yes it's piston style LMA's, I pulled the valve cover off and the valve clearance is .010-.011 clearance on intake valves. They should be at .06-.07. I'll adjust it soon and will see how that goes

And the knock is coming out of the intake manifold, so hopefully that's the reason

I just adjusted the valves and still doing it. Knock comes out of the cylinder 3 because when I lift the spark plug wire out of it, it stops making that knock

Yup, most likely bottom end, no other explanations anymore. Switches the plugs around to see if it was misfiring and sounds about the same. Might be a bearing. Motor is build so I dont know if golden eagle rods would start knocking at only 418whp and Pistons are SRP 11:3:1

Detonation will pound out those bearings.

Nothing to do with the rods

My plugs are worn out, I had issues starting my car due to those plugs and sometimes I smelled gasoline when I drive.

And $10 worth of plugs was out of the budget?

Your money, but $10 and literally 5 minutes work is worth maintaining a sleeved fully built motor to me

Agree, I doubt that it was the reason for my problem. I've been beating on the car lately pretty bad

Beating on a car with worn out plugs is a good way to ruin a motor. Couldve detonated from am inconsistent spark or something and raped your bearing.
