Default Building for Turbo?

I am planning on getting a turbo. Possibly a T4 60-1 by innovative turbo or a Garret T3/T4. I was wondering what i would have to do internally. I was planning on getting Wiesco pistons or JE, and eagle rods. What are off the shelf pistons? and i heard something about "H" and "I" rods. Whats the difference? I know id need bearings for my rods, anything else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Allot of people run boost on stock internals with no problems at all. How much boost are you planning on running?

Do the innovative turbo for sure, maybe with the T3 ex housing .63 a/r for the street. I recommend GE sleeves, JE Pistons, factory bearings, Eagle or Manley rods depending on HP goals.

Good Luck

As for psi, i plan on running 6-7 pounds without uprgraded internals. I will be running either hondata 2b, or 3b, i havent decided yet. As for injectors, still not sure. Any recommendations? Once i uprgrade the internals, im not sure how much boost i can run. im new to this. Do you think this turbo is too big? it was recommended to me by a guy who knows what hes doing, and knows my goals which are 12 second full interior. Im not getting it for a while, i just want to learn as much as possible. oh here is the turbo, the one on the far right. http://www.innovativeturbo.com/Produ...hargers/T4.htm

imo, a bigger turbo is no prob, just have a waste gate that opens at 7ish psi.

Ive asked a few people and they said it wouldnt be that bad. How much worse would it be than a t3/t4? I was going to get the doulbe ball bearing T4 60-1. Also, i have another question. Would my pistons be fine if i got new rods, and a thicker head gasket so my compression would be down? I would like to keep the pistons, but if i have to get new ones, i guess i can.

if you tear the motor apart, you might as well get new pistons.

for only 6-7psi i wouldn't get the t4 60-1, go with the t3/t4. The t4 takes some time to spool. The t3/t4 will get you to a 12 second car.

Fire. The reason as why i was debating was because i have heard that you have a lot of problems after tearing it apart.

Auto. I wasnt planning on running that the whole time, just until i could afford to build up my internals is all. Then id hopefully be running 12-14lbs. Thanks for your guys opinions, i really appreciate it.

If i were you, i would run on the stock internals for now. Maybe get a new head gasket. The main thing you need to be conserned about is having good fuel management. Your stock internals can handle 12 to 15 psi if it is getting the amount of fuel it needs. The hondata s200, 2b, or 3b would all work great. Then get some dsm 450 injectors and a new intank fuel pump. Personally, i would get the t3/t4 for the quicker spool if this is a street car.

Thanks. I was thinking either 2b or 3b, havent decided. are the dsm 450 injectors from a dsm? im just putting two and two together. I was just wanting a little more than a t3/t4 if you guys have any suggestions. thanks again.

from what ive heard the t3/t4 turbos are more then enugh for a street car good up to like 530 hp and the 450 dsm injectors are out of turbo eclipses......the 60-1 is to big you will have a good amount of lag.

Oh ok, well as long as your not to concerned with killing people right of the line at a stoplight race, the t4 60-1 will give awesome power. With a built block your looking at well over 500hp with the right fuel management. Just have friends when it comes to passing things if you know what i mean. Good luck in your pursiut for boost.
