I meant it in a joking way, don't take it too seriously.

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!
USE red loctite on the flywheel bolts, its specified in the manual, if you dont you will regret it trust me
i didnt on one of my old motors and a year down the road they came loose and i thought the transmission was broke
use red loctite on the flywheel bolts and torque to spec
</TD></TR></TABLE>
Huh, well the two Helms manuals I have DO NOT say to use thread locker. Which "manual" are you using that tells you to specifically use red thread locker? Have fun getting those flat headed bolts out when its time to service.
Even if you forgot about what manuals told you to do, I didn't just make up what I described about what it can do to throw specs off when repeating the proper pattern. Wheres your arguement in that?
Oh and further more...when you buy certain flywheels like Fidanza, they come with a specific warning NOT to apply thread locker to the bolts.

my manual did not mention thread locker, and i use the one from honda. not a helms or something else. it makes sense to use it though i guess.
the car is built now, so i guess i will see how it holds up.

i wouldnt of posted unless i had seen it, this is not a pissing match here, i was just trying to help out platinum00 ....
i have done it with and w/o thread lock, and both worked fine, but the gsr motor i did not put thread lock on not only came undone once, but 2 times because i did not put thread lock on after the first time of pulling the transmission
so i posted that i used thread lock and i read it elsewhere or else i would not have done it to my own motor.... ever since the thread lock was done no more loose flywheel bolts
this is just my personal experience though

I understand your just trying to help. I saw so many exclamation marks though after the word wrong you wrote in response, I replied again.
I think the main concern with Fidanza is that the loctite will seep through where the flywheel attaches to the crank register at the bolt locations, and cause the wheel to seat slightly off flush.
Everyone has their own preferences, true. Do what works for you.
