Default Building B20vtec for boost HELP!

Okay, i know im a newbee to the site but ive been in the honda game for a min, been na up until recently bought a ef 4door, stock ls swap w/a cheap ebay turbo and damn its fun... lol So i sold the car and now im building my 95 coupe. I have a 84.5mm b20 block, mahle 8.5:1 comp pistons, eagle h-beams, fully microed and balanced rotating assembly. It was going to be all motor but i exchanged the 12.5:1s for the lower turbo friendly compression pistons. I have a fully ported and polished b16 head sk2s1 cams decked .0050 sk2 intake mani...I Want to put the motor together but im afraid to with the cylinder walls thin in stock form much less bored. I would love to sleeve one of my ls blocks to 84.5mm and use my b20 **** but i just dont have the cash. (btw i picked up a gt3076r from a buddy and rc 750's) all i wanna do is make around 400 to 450 and run no more than 10-12psi unsleeved, will it hold with a supertech block-guard and a really good tune? And no, i dont have an ems, it will be tuned using hondata.

Heres my car.. its a work in progress this is just the ebayturbo on a b20b with the b16 head on 6psi.
Thanks, Mike.

not sure about the block gaurd you mentioned, but you have nearly exactly the set up I run . The block gaurd i run is a c&c fit same as the superdeck system seems to be soild and i was told by my installer it not uncommon for them to go over 20psi configured like this

I don't think your sleeves will take 400-450 (with some luck it might, but not likely) and it definately won't do that on 10-12 psi. I would take a stock bottom end 81mm over that, and I wouldn't go over about 300 whp with that setup, get sleeves.

What stock bottem end is 81mm and not 81.5mm? But yeah i realize sleeves would be nice, But if i had that kind of money they would be in there, Im still in college so moneys tight. I thought about trying to change my pistons out and use an ls block but i just wanted some input 1st. And my buddy has a stock gsr making almost 328whp tuned on e85 surely a forged bottom end better turbo with same tuner would make a hello lot more power, hell he thinks 400 isnt a problem but thanks for the input.

yeah 400whp is gonna be a hard goal on that setup, i wouldnt worry about e85 unless u got easy access to it just tune it on 12psi b20 blocks still make really good power on pump gas. On a good tune 12psi should be ok on those sleeves just watch ur A/F like a hawk, u can prolly come close to 350whp.

Well i 400-450 is my goal i mean id be happy with 350ish i just wanna fast 12 sec street car, and be able to beat it up and not have to worry about a sleeve cracking and ruining my new pistons. I just wanna be able to have fun with it for a year or so hopefully by then ill have ls block sleeved to the same bore and just swap everything over then go for high hp and boost. Thanks for the oppinions.

oh btw the w/the head decked mahle said the CR should be around 9.5:1 maybe a little less depending on the thickness of the head gasket.

Your goals of 400-450 with stock sleeve on a b20 won't last long unless you get it sleeved. Not saying this to hate on you, because I owned many honda before I got into dsm. If you want it to last long get it sleeved and tuned on e85.

All stock blocks but B20 are 81mm, and as said, 84.5mm will crack a sleeve with boost. I would throw a stock LS bottom end in until you can afford to sleeve. I would trust a stock bottom end further than I would trust your built bottom end.

Yeah im gettin skeptical. And i dont know why i thought all b16's and **** were 81.5mm bore... dont know. Anyways i just bought a stock ls for ***** a giggles, gonna pull the b20vtec and sell it try to sleeve the an ls block to 84.5mm but in the meanwhile run 12-14 on the ls. I think it'll be fun anyways.

i just dont think it would be worth ruining some expensive pistons and **** because i got in a hurry. What sleeves would you all recommend? Darton, Eagle... i know nothing about sleeves....
