Default build turbo sohc

just want to see what everybody else input is........building stock d16z6....goging to trubo of course(d series turbo blow it o well lol) just want to know what would be the best pistons,rods,cams,im....would be the best for the motor......i already did research and i came up with some info, just want to see what others have to say they would do.....

What horsepower are you going for.. That will determine what internals you need..

any where from 160-180 hp ....i heard that that is a simple step....and i am curious to know what a mini-me is excactly ....i think i know a lilttle of the specs, but not all of them a litle help would be nice .....

Just search around for info about it.. A mini-me is putting a d16z6 or d16y8 vtec head on a d15 non-vtec block.. If your in the process of learning about turbo setups and tuning I would just use the stock block..

You can learn on that and when you blow it up another motor is very cheap.. Wait until you have learned how its all done before you go and build up a motor..

I agree. The stock block and head is more than good enough for 160-180hp.

A stock d16z6 can take a lot of abuse with good fuel management and tuning. BoostedED9 made 302whp on a stock Z6 and ladysman made 262whp on a stock Z6. I think there are a couple other people that made 250 ish horsepower on stock Z6's? I made over 216whp on my stock Z6 and have been raping the **** out of it for the last 6 months.

I really have to get mine dyno tuned.. What whp do you guys estimate that im putting out.. I have a 89' crx dx with interior removed and passanger seat taken out.. Its still has the sunroof in it.. Running 13.00@106 in the 1/4 on slicks with 1.9ish 60' times.. Any guesses..

200whp give or take a few.

what i heard was to switch a z6 im, with y8 im......cuz the y8 im can take more compression or is that just a waste of time and money?????
