Re: build a gsr or b16 bottom end? (boosted2cam)
I had that same decision to make a couple years ago. I ended up building the B16 I had and have been happy with it. I ended up spending about $4500, but it's sleeved, all forged internals, head work(valves/springs/porting), new cams/crank, and a bunch of other stuff, all top of the line, plus I had it assembled. It makes a bit over 400WHP on pump gas and has been holding up well. I drag race it most weeks and autox or road course it monthly.

I've run a GT28RS (380WHP and no lag) and a GT3071R (407WHP) on it, currently running the 3071R, but just got it on there, so haven't run it at the track yet, but expecting high 11's in a 2750 pound coupe (full interior and AC). Fastest with the old turbo was a 12.04 at 119. It's bored to 84mm on Darton open-deck sleeves.
