Buddy Club Spec 4 Cam and Boost????
I have these siting in my lsvtec that I am getting ready to pull apart and a buddy of mine said I should think about putting them in my turbo motor. Has anyboddy used these before, I know people are starting to use Skunk2 Pro 1&2 cams and Toda spec A&B cams in there turbo motor. Should I consider using my BC4 cams?
Thanks Jordan

You CAN use them, but a lot of overlap will have to be dialed out of them. The BC spec IVs from my experience are like the Toda Spec B/C. If you CAN change them, do so. If not, try it and find out the results. i'm sure we're all interested in continued use of N/A cams for turbo builds.

GS-R and Type R cams do VERY well. Your stock GS-R cams can do the job over 600whp.

alot of high lift na cams we dynoed did very well with turbo setups, but as mac said, you have to dial out as much overlap as possible to take full advantage of the cam

But it depends on what you're looking for. Victor X IMs are made for larger turbos with top end power. The performer X is more of a street/track response torque maker. One is not "better" than the other.

Performer X would be a better choice based upon the purpose used. Torque is more important than all out power in your situation. Look to your transmission gearing for a better torque multiplier also. With road racing, you want to keep exhaust velocities as high as possible to keep transient response throughout the course of your driving to get improved time.
Honestly, 350whp isn't needed on many tracks, unless you find that you want to use a device to instantly switch boost settings on certain areas of the course to work on your time.

Re: Buddy Club Spec 4 Cam and Boost???? (TheShodan)
yea im hoping to find a turbo controller that makes it possible to switch from say...275-300 and back to 350 whenever i choose
or is there such an animal
the best part about the FULL RACE kit is that they have an anodized blk intercooler allowing me to keep my sleeper theme....vettes wont know what hit them

Re: Buddy Club Spec 4 Cam and Boost???? (hidiouskinky)
for the boost setting your talking about- look into a boost scrambler( its where you can run on say 10 psi and then you hold a button down and you increase boost to a set amount say 15 psi) seen it on a best motoring video once in a skyline.
but as for the cams you can still make good power with them its just not as much as if you had turbo cams because of the duration.
turbo cams= short duration, which in turn builds up pressure in the cylinders thus creating more power

The Greddy Electronic Boost controller has a remote switch that is mountable on the steering wheel. I'm sure there are those who want to use toggle switches and such, but in road racing, total concentraction is needed. Before we jack the OP's thread any further, I'd say its not needed to use a high NA cam on a turbocharged car for a 300whp range.
