BOV not making sound? something wrong?
I noticed that my HKS BOV is not making noise no more (or very little under full boost). I took it out and it seems like its fine so could it be something wrong with it?

I have the same problem. So one day I took the SSQV BOV apart and found the parts were loose and worn out. I guess they put more plastic in there than I thought. I love HKS n' all but they did a **** poor job making this BOV. Soon I'm going to replace this with either a TiAL or TurboXS RFL

i didn't take it off completely (like loosen the 3 allen bolt), but i compress the spring and it seems to be fine....even blows out air off the vacuum line.

I like the HKS SSQV for low - mid boost applications but the TiAL is the best bov for mid - high boost IMO. Here are some pictures of my TiAL.

Re: (JustJeff)
Is your hks adjustable? If it is then you may have it adjusted to tight, which is for big boost. If it is too tight then it won't blow off if your boosting under 12psi. Just a thought. Sam thing happened to a friend of mine on his vortech bov.
