Default BOV location??

Ok, this is a debate that has been going on d-series .org for a while now.

What is the most effective location for a blow off valve? The typical place is on the cold side a few inches down from the throttle body. But then you have the full-race kit that is mounted on the hot side right on the end tank of the intercooler. Is there a reason for that?

What do you guys think?

My guess is because they are aiming for high boost with the fullrace setup, meaning much hotter air than low boost. If you have the BOV pre-fmic, it doesn't add heat to it. If its post-fmic, it will add heat. If you are auto-xing or serious drag racing it might matter, otherwise, I can't see it making a huge difference. Most street cars have it up above for bling, easy access, and space. Who wants to take their bumper off their daily driver to adjust it when it starts fluttering?

Hot side charge pipe... They are for compressor surge not bling factor.
