Default Bore to what??

i just got some sleeves and the bore is 83mm and my question is should i have it bore to 84mm or just leave it 83mm?

IMO, i think i should just leave it 83mm for the next time cause i might need to bore it again in the future, plus im gonna boost the **** out of the motor.

let me know what you think, just wanna see what ideas are out there and what would you do.

its a B16A block and ain't the max bore 85mm before the walls get to thin?

get it check and make sure the walls are good.. if so just leave it.. if not then bore... even if you bore it to 84 you still have 84.5 and 85mm if you want to go ahead and do it

The bore is a good idea, but automotively speaking, it doesn't give near the same result with more torque as increase the STROKE of the motor. With a bore only, look to about maybe 20ft/lbs of additional torque, while most I've experienced gained about 60ft/lbs with less bore and more stroke of the engine. Considering that you have a b16, you're pretty used to the "torqueless wonder" anyway. Not trying to burst any bubbles of joy here, just want you to understand and not overestimate your expected result from doing this.

Good luck, I'm quite sure you'll do just fine..

if the cylinders are new then i would just have them honed to .050 clearance from the pistons.

I'd say leave it at 83mm and just hone it before you put the pistons in to get a nice finish on the walls. I dont think theres a need for any bigger then that, and like you said, that leaves you with plenty of meat on the sleeves and plenty of chances to reuse the block if anything happens.
