boosting a b16b questions?
i want to boost my b16b, i know many will say that i shouldve just bought a b18c1 or something but thats the motor that was in my car when i bought it. my questions are as follows.
1. in order to lower compression to an acceptable level can i simply put in forged b16 rods and forged ~9.1:1 comp pistons?
2. Will this be acceptable to the b16b putting parts from a b16a in it?
3. if yes to the above two then will said setup give me the strength/compression to run 270 whp daily?
4. should i stay with my CTR cams or get something like GSR?
5. how many lbs of boost would you run on this set up for daily driving provided it was hondata tuned?
thanks in advance.

B16a rods are shorter than b16b last time I checked only crower made a forged rod for b16b. I dont know if that changed.

Get the crower rods, and whatever piston you want and boost it. Its no differnt, all I am saying is as far as I know you are limited to only one brand rod..crower and crower is a good brand

yeah I made a mistake, its the b17 that crower makes the rod for. my bad, I dont know any company that has shelf rods for b16b. you might have to go custom length. the rod ratio of the b16b plus boost would be sick.

The B16B has a taller deck height than the B16A, so B16A rods absolutely wouldn't work. If you don't know exactly what you're talking about, why give someone advice? That is something that could cost him hundreds of dollars and tons of aggrivation just because you wanted to add to your post count.

By forged b16 rods i assumed he ment B16B RODS. Hence why i said NO to #2.

About the cams if you have gsr use them, but if your in the market buy itr o ctr, they will rev higher to 8500 with boost then the drop. Gsr will be a little less then that with boost. Peak boost on gsr will be around 8k. Save money get ctr or 00 itr cams
