Default pistons and rods mandatory??????

im putting a precision turbo set-up on my car and am looking to make some more power. i dont need anything crazy, i just wanna make the car more fun to drive and keep the relaiability my b18c1 has in my 99si. im gonna boost low number around 6-8 psi, and im looking to make around 250-280 whp. i was wondering if i need to put some lower compression pistons in with some stronger rods. Will this make my motor less reliable? is it safe to boost these numbers on an internaly stock gsr? thanks alot for any help. if anyone has any suggestions on parts i should purchase as far as pistons and rods go itd be appreciated.

Ur stock internals will be fine if u only wants 250-280 hp. No need to build it with pistons and rods if ur only going to be running 6-8 psi. My .02

ya a B18c won`t be that sensitive to your power goals, have it tuned for conservatively, and not peak numbers and it should be reliable for a long time
