Default boosted ls-v...parts list questions

so im gona try boost for tha first time...stock jdm b18b with a stock gsr and intake manifold. tranny is a hydro ls with a gsr 4.40 final drive. turbo is a turbonetics s trim with a cast log manifold.

so i got some questions about what will perform tha best. im gona have tha fuel cut at 7600 and shift light at 7400 to keep tha bearings and rod bolts somewhat happy. im looking for early boost with a fat powerband since tha revs will be kept low. im wondering what cam to use b16 gsr or type r. i got tha b16 cams already. also should i keep tha butterflys or take them out. and also are lightweight flywheels worth it over stock on a mild boos app? also i put tha 4.40 fd in but im wondering if a itr 4.7 would be better? im coming from tha world of n/a and i know boost is diff. so any advice would be great

The b16 cam is the worst of the vtec cams. I would get a stock gsr cam over that but the type r would work great! The butterflys help for low down tq but it flows better with them out, might end up being a nice free upgrade. Personally I like the light weight flywheels, they take some mass off the rotational assembly and save wear and tear on stuff while helping the engine rev a bit quicker. Also less likely to shatter as well. Good luck!

ITR>GSR>B16 cams ... get what you can afford or justify buying

4.4 final drive ... you dont want to run through the revs too quickly. The LS bottom end doesn't want to rev quickly and has the torque to make up the difference

I wouldnt go with too light of a flywheel. Think of a flywheel like a bank of kinetic energy...a light one will rev up faster, but carry less energy. A heavier one takes longer to move, but carries more energy with it. If this was a B16a/b and was rev-happy, I would suggest the light one, but with an LS/VTEC, I wouldnt go lighter than 12lbs. On my LS/VTEC a few years back, i stuck with the stock LS fly and had good results.
