<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by turbob16EF »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i searched and could find any thing on how much boost the jdm 1st gen b16 able to hold and the numbers they make.
engine specs are completely stock except gsr are cams.
turbo specs are 2.5 dp, full 3in. exhuast, ssacrap mani, tial 38mm wastegate,2.5 ic piping, jrc ic., and t3 super 60.
was wondering if a to4b90 would work on this engine(as in spool)</TD></TR></TABLE>
the first gen b16 has 10:2.1 compression. im not sure what the usdm B16a2 is but i think it is 10:4.1.
I dont know what kind of power you are looking for, but i am doing an AFC hack temporarly until i can get better managment. i am going to run 8 psi on a garret t3/t04E 57 trim with a .63 a/r compressor. this turbo is about 75% efficent on our engines (pretty damn good). This turbo should spool at around 5 grand, which is good for daily driving and for racing, with a ys1 tranny you will never fall out of boost. becuase of the higher compression than that compared to a b18b/a block, i wouldnt go to high in boost unless you have some better managment.
I have seen an USDM b16a2 with 18psi on stock internals. this was a daily driver with 285 at the wheels. he had it running for two years and it didnt blow up apparently. he had a thicker head gasket also.

Re: boosted jdm b16a (pennhatch)
why dont u just get your ecu chipped and get a retune from one of the free softwares(neptune, crome,uberdata)OBD1 i think (and for obd0 you can use turboedit) they are really easy to use and you can get everything you need like wideband and chip burner so you can change the boost when ever you want . just my 2 cents
