boosted civic, need help

Default boosted civic, need help

my friend just turbo'd his 96 ek coupe, sohc vtec

its an hf manifold to a tdo5h turbo


the car wont boost over 4 pounds, we looked for boost leaks, and took the vacum line off the wastegate and it still wouldnt go over, its stock ecu, injectors, and pump, he is waiting on the ecu to come in

If he's on stock injectors, stock ecu and stock pump, i'd consider this problem a god-send. Until you get it tuned, you shouldn't be boosting on it...period

Is he throwing a CEL and going into Limp-mode?? That happened to one of my friends when he tried to boost on stock everything...

Check that the wastegate is seating properly too

its throwing the map sensor code, but why would that keep the turbo from boosting past 4

because the car goes into limp-mode where it only does basic driving abilities...people like this are the reason that turbo setups have a bad stigma

was the case with me until my wife caught a flat tire on her lancer and was forced to drive my car for the remainder of the day. now she wants to drive my car everywhere lol. this just happened on saturday to. i keep telling her that my car don't belong in the Kroger parking lot

lol she finally rode in it today when we went to the gym. I have 3 different cars, she gave me the excuse that she doesn't trust the car. I made her get in and drove normal...lol
