I have a 00 GSR and I was wondering if my stock ecu can allow me to boost over 12psi or will it give me a CEL?

 

you cant boost past 11 psi with a stock map sensor. do a search and youll find more information.

Yes it the map sensor which wont alow you to run more boost, youll need to run a 3bar map sensor to bypass this.

You can boost past 11 psi on the stock map sensor if you are using the missing link for the map sensor. I would just go with Hondata to alleviate tuning problems. Before I got Hondata I used a VAFC with a missing link and ran 15psi daily. The car ran fine, but I couldn't really get my stock computer to agree with the VAFC on the dyno.

 

You can't run 11 psi on the stock ECU - or more specifically the stock MAP sensor. It doesn't read that high.
