Default Boost, need a 3rd gauge, suggestions?

Going to be turbo'd here soon.....
Have a triple gauge pod with:
1.Oil Pressure
2.Boost
3.???

What do you fellas think i should throw in the 3rd slot? I've been told Pyrometer, but i want to get some 2nd opinions from the HT pros!

On a side note....both Oil and Boost are mechanical. Is this a wise choice? Friend of mine will be installing, but i want what will work best without a huge hassle for him. Thanks as usual HT!

Isn't a pyrometer basically the same thing as an EGT though?
Just getting my gauges straight here....

Thanks for the reply

Notice the bolded words in the above quote.

I don't think there is one person on here that would say, "oh no, don't get a wideband." Widebands are a definite must, if you like to feel comfortable that is.

wideband 02.

You'll be happy you spent the extra money on it rather than an EGT. EGT is nice to know that your temps are normal or not but with wideband, you wouldn't care about the temps cause you'd know why, too rich or too lean. Then you would know what to do about it instead of thinking "why my temps too high?

OK, Mike just gave me some valuable advice and told me to ditch the Mech. Oil pressure gauge for safety, cleanliness issues..........

Now, should i just trade it for an electrical, or try a different gauge?

Side note.......i'm afraid i couldnt afford a Wideband, and cheaped out with the Pyrometer.....sorry guys. Thanks for all the help though.

why stop at 3 why not 4 or 5. check mine out i love knowing how my engine is doing all the time i plan on adding an aem wideband also. as far as a mech. OPG i had one in my hatch i used a piece of braided stainless line to run mine and i never had a problem but i didnt like the idea of hot oil sitting just a few inches from my knees (had integra dash in my eg with dual cluster pod). im running elec. one now i'd say ditch it and get the one u want

and yes i know my water and oil temps are not alighned with my A/F this is for a reason

A wideband would probably be the most useful

Wideband for sure, but if you can get both

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by mike1114 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">wideband 02.

AFRs can be fine and temps can be outta control because of ignition timing either too advance OR too retarded

EGT, water temp, oil temp, anything along those lines

here is what im running.

boost, egt, oil temp, oil pressure, coolant temp, coolant pressure, wideband o2, and most likely will be getting an IAT gauge

^^^agreed again.

I said the order would most likely be:

Boost
Oil Pressure
Wideband
Water Temp
EGT
Oil Temp
Whatever else, because after this you'll have all the vital guages covered.

I am runnin Oil Pres. + Boost + EGT

Too poor for a wideband 02 , and the tuner provides one for tuning ....maybe I'll get one eventually.
