Default boost by gear

I was wondering what was all involved in doing a boost by gear. I have a aem stand alone computer.

You need a boost control solenoid which is sold by AEM.

Thanks do you or anyone have a diagram on how to set it up. Do you put it in place of you manual boost controller?

This is the most common method to plumb your EBC.



This method will offer a nice boost range and good resolution. Minimum boost pressure will be slightly above wastegate spring pressure. Maximum boost pressure is usually 3-4 times wastegate spring (depending on back pressure).

Yes you put the electronic boost solenoid in place of the manual solenoid.

If you want to replace the MBC with the same vac plumbing then you use this method:



This method will achieve a lower maximum pressure than the first method but the lowest pressure will be wastegate spring pressure. This method offers excellent control resolution and maximum pressure is usually 2-3 times wastegate spring.
