Default Boost Creep?

My Setup up:

AFI Front Facing Exhaust Manifold
PTE 6766 A/R .68
1x Tial 44mm (12 PSI)

I never take the same pressure on my AVC-R with this setup.
AVC-R OFF I always take around 1.02 or 1.12 on my AVC-R screen and I have ever seen 1.38b

Do you think I need to put another Tial 44 W/G or change my boost controller?

thks

Add another wastegate. Your solenoid with the AVC-R is fine. 1.02b = 15psi , 1.12 = 16.5psi for those that are not aware.

I remember that you told me that point on this thread
https://honda-tech.com/forums/drag-racing-36/my-eg-drag-car-3075732/

I cannot add another tial like that I need to change or modify the Exhaust manifold.

I connected the Tial W/G with the port above,
like this

perhaps I need to use the 2 ports first?

Hook up the wastegate directly without the boost controller and see what boost level you are hitting. If you are still too high then your only choice is to cut and weld a new wastegate port. This is not uncommon for a lot of setups depending on the turbo/engine combination. For 60+mm setups I almost always recommend dual 38/mvs wastegates right off the bat to eliminate this risk on a street car.

it probably doesn't help that your wastegate angle is in the opposite direction of the exhaust flow. i could be wrong but that is what it looks like in the picture.

Thats what I am thinking is the issue.

Air is lazy and goes the path of least resistance.

If the car is pretty responsive on boost response you can go up in a/r on the turbine side and that will help your boost control with what you have now.

http://www.turbosmart.com.au/wp-cont...1/10/5530.jpeg Here is a link of proper w.g. location.

I think you are right about the W/G angle.
I'm going to ask AFI turbo about this problem.

First I 'm going to hook the W/G directly.

Should I switch for a PTE 46mm W/G? is the PTE W/G better?

The 46 might help... but you can't fix the problem if wastegate priority is the issue

No. Don't consider that at all. Stick with th TiAL or Turbosmart. But first check that Angle, then see if another gate is needed

You right, but just finished my built and need to disassemble in order to Weld another Tial port!

AFI told me to put a lower spring inside like 5 PSI?

I will try this week

You can try that.. less preload on the valve might help reduce creep

I believe the lighter spring will affect the over all pressure that you can control with the boost controller though. With the lighter spring, you may not be able to reach the maximum level that you are wanting to reach

I've seen people with creep on divided manifolds running twin tials use 3lb springs to eliminate creep. They seem to be able to get 25psi out of those springs with an ECU controlled boost controller... however every setup is different.

There is nothing Wrong with the Angle at all, other then the Top lies on the Damn Runner! I would look more at your plumbing first...

Just done some tests tonight.
5000 RPM to 7500 RPM I have 14 PSI and past 7500 to 8400 RPM it goes up to boost cut @22PSI.
I tried to connect directly the W/G to the Turbo and same problem.

I will try with lower spring and after I will add a W/G...

I tried with a 5 PSI spring and it is the same I hit 15 PSI past 7800RPM...
I'm disappointed.
I need to add a W/G

What way have you the boost lines to wastegate plumbed?

Have you checked for leaks on your wastegate? Buy a vacum pump, or a compressor and check it for any leaks before you rip apart your setup.
It doesn't matter if its new double check, its the easy route.

I'm not suprised no one in here mentioned it.

Looks like the wastegate doesn't have priority at all with that angle. Reconfigure that or add a second wg on the other side of the collector
